Meet Seth
Seth is a praise leader, songwriter, and all-around musician. He was in school band for Jarrell ISD in Jarrell, Texas from 6th grade through 12th grade with formal training in brass, self-taught on multiple other instruments, and currently refining his guitar skills. Born in California and raised in Texas, Seth began his independent musical journey in 8th grade when he composed original scores, wrote his first Christian song in 10th grade, and has since released multiple songs. Residing in Central Texas, he attends Upwards Church and plays the drums for the praise ministry, Upwards Worship.
Seth is dedicated to cultivating a pure and refined heart wherever he walks, driven by a deep desire to see everyone in his life fulfill the will of the Father in the name of Yeshua. Utilizing his gifts and talents, he serves as a deacon of the Father to the world, offering teaching and spiritual wisdom to family and friends of all ages. Through both solo projects and artist collaborations, Seth writes music that directly reflects our trials and temptations, addressing the hardest parts of our Christian walk.

Seth studies Scripture by reading a verse on its own, then reading the full chapter to establish its surrounding context. Seth then finds supporting passages and cross-references across the Bible to build a Systematic Theology, always connecting doctrines between the Old Covenant (OC) and New Covenant (NC) texts. Additionally, the greatest thing that Seth always reminds himself is that the chapters and the verses are not in the original manuscripts and are later conventions. This has helped his theology mature greatly over the years.
Seth has grown to be in total distrust of any English translation, even if deemed a "gold standard" by academic scholars, which often muddy word choice, soften word choice, introduce contradictions, favor tradition over faithfulness to the texts, and ultimately, make interpretation confusing. Because of this, Seth has built a habit of going directly to the original languages to examine what words the texts actually use and what those words mean.
The most crucial hermeneutic Seth strictly follows is this: Scripture is always above tradition, and Scripture interprets Scripture. Seth believes that if a false doctrine is brought forth, Scripture itself, as Scripture interprets Scripture, will eventually expose the false doctrine. Seth does not defer to tradition nor history, nor to scholars nor institutions, but to one thing only; that is, the Scriptures.
Yes, Seth believes in the Five Solas. However, he finds it wise to clarify each point so there is no room for assumptions.
Scripture Alone (Sola Scriptura):
Scripture is the supreme and the ultimate authority over all the human tradition, all the church councils, all the denominations, and all the church leaders.
Faith Alone (Sola Fide):
While faith and works are two distinct things, true faith and fruitful works are impossible to separate. Justification before the Father is by faith alone, but genuine faith inevitably produces works. Consider the thief on the cross: he was not baptized and did not have the opportunity to perform good works, yet Yeshua declared, 'Amen I say to you, today you will be with me in the paradeisos.' Yeshua saw his heart, knew his faith was genuine, and knew that fruitful works would have followed had he lived.
For those living today who claim the faith, we are to be justified before man as written in the Epistle of Ya'akov (James). As it is written, Yeshua Himself, the Lord, provided this direct standard: "From the fruits-of-them you will know them. Do they gather from thorns a grape, or from thistles figs? Thus every good tree makes good fruits, but the rotten tree makes evil fruits. A good tree is not able to make evil fruits, nor a rotten tree to make good fruits. Every tree not making good fruit is being-cut-out and into fire thrown. Therefore from the fruits-of-them you will know them." When fruit is declared to be absent or when fruit is declared to be corrupt, they who claim to be of the faith are to be considered a deceiver, and if the deceiver has the response from the declarer to biblical exhortation is merely "Do not judge!", as it is written, let us call to them repentance and humility. If they, the ones considered deceivers, are to be found in refusal or denial of their unfruitful works, let us regard them as Yeshua Himself, the Lord, regarded them: as a Gentile or a tax collector.
Grace Alone (Sola Gratia):
Salvation is entirely an unearned gift by the grace of the Father that was delivered through His Son, as clearly declared throughout Scripture.
Christ Alone (Solus Christus):
Salvation is found exclusively in Christ (Anointed One) alone.
Glory to YHWH Alone (Soli YHWH Gloria):
All glory belongs exclusively to YHWH alone! A foundational truth shown across hundreds of passages of Scripture.

Seth does not identify with any specific denomination, as he does not believe in the branches or divisions of Christianity. He simply believes that if every person were to read the Scriptures as they are written, without using philosophy or history to justify their doctrine, and if every person was to humble themselves under the Scriptures and under the Father in the name of Yeshua, we would all believe the same doctrine and be completely unified in truth.
Yes, Seth is an active churchgoer and has been since the age of 14. Seth does not simply go to church, but Seth serves within the church as well. Seth serves in the Worship ministry on a weekly basis, in the Youth ministry as a leader, and in the Outreach ministry in the musical areas for events. Seth is at his church on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and occasionally on Saturdays depending on the events that are occurring.
Seth uses his own Bible translation that he is actively developing; one rooted directly in the earliest manuscripts (papyri fragments, Vaticanus, and Sinaiticus) and governed by a rigorous Ultra-Wooden, Semantic Equivalency, and Word-for-Word translation philosophy. Seth has much more nuance than most ordinary people who answer this question. Seth believes that Scripture, texts that are genuinely true and inspired by the Spirit, are inerrant and infallible, while "Scripture" that is not true and not inspired by the Spirit tends to be errant and fallible. To help you better understand Seth's view on this, Seth believes Scripture is every piece of text inspired by the Spirit of YHWH.
Seth does not normally engage in formal debates, but Seth is an apologist and will defend the faith and sound doctrine from false teachers Seth comes across on the streets. However, you will not see Seth ranting on social media...at least anymore you won't. Seth used to be a major social media ranter about doctrine.
Seth shares his beliefs publicly because his beliefs are an intrinsic part of who he is. While many people hide what they believe, Seth rejects that approach. What you believe is who you are. Seth's Christian faith is eternally united with his identity, for he is born again by the Spirit. His faith is public because private faith is no such thing, whether faced with liberty or with persecution, for it is said by the perfect One: "Blessed those having-been-pursued on-account-of righteousness, because theirs is the kingdom of the heavens. Blessed are you when they reproach you and pursue and say every evil against you, lying, on-account-of me. Rejoice and exult, because the wage-of-you is much in the heavens; for thus they pursued the prophets, those before you."
