About My Testimony
My Testimony is a deeply personal and inspiring song that journeys my life, from my early days in school to finding and embracing God. My Testimony shows all of my struggles, growth, and eventual transformation through God's grace. My Testimony is a story of resistance, acceptance, and ultimately, salvation.
In the beginning, I was the same as everyone else, I didn't like the church — the church felt foreign, a waste of time. But over time, the church grew on me. I asked my mom about the worship team, and my mom spoke to the Worship Leader. The Worship Leader spoke to me and told me to come on a rehearsal night so I came on the very next one. I began serving and found a community that supported me.
Half of the song reflects the most difficult part and that was strengthening my mind to only care about what one person thinks of me and that person is God. I was suicidal back in 2018, and with God's guidance, I got my life together and made the journey through high school.
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." — Romans 12:2
The song also speaks to the fear and hesitation I felt about publicly proclaiming my faith. I was scared of backlash and being made fun of by my peers.
"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven." — Mattityahu 5:11-12
These words reminded me that standing firm in my faith, despite opposition, is a path to a great blessing.
"For by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, the saving is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." — Ephesians 2:8-9
My Testimony is a testament to the fact that no matter how far we've strayed, God's grace is always available to us if we open our hearts and accept God.
If anyone struggles with the same thing I struggled with and sometimes still struggle with to this day, My Testimony is for you. Use my testimony as an inspiration to not be ashamed of the gospel of Yeshua Christ. My story alone shows that someone who was on the brink of suicide found joy through Yeshua and now that person lives a life full of joy. I chose to accept the great plan that the Lord has for me (Yirmeyahu 29:11), do you?
Listen to My Testimony
I was judged all my life because I’m not in athletics I was seen as the weird kid who had no friends Life is that, life is hard, but I pushed through and become a star Never trust the ones who come and go They leave the second you don’t roll with the flow I walked through the doors of high school and said come on let’s roll Joined up with some people who weren’t so good I got in trouble and got some bad grades Not A’s, Not B’s, but some C’s and D’s My parents got mad at me for messing up So my Dad said get your stuff, and my Mom said grab your Bible They took me to a church on a Sunday morning, so I took that as a warning And you know I didn’t like it at the time, but I continued going After some time the church grew on me I had some people I knew who went there So how bad could it be? I went to a youth group on a Wednesday, and that changed my sight on God In the church I changed my act in accordance with God But at school I was still the same I wanted the fame, not gonna be lame People knew my name, didn’t want no shame Had all the game, I wasn’t the same Eventually my mind got with all the frames I broke down and was torn Felt like it was a mistake to be born Some posts were made on social media that said I want to die Had some who reassured, and some who said good The bullying got to a point where I cried so much Close friends were the only ones who stayed by my side Felt like I got hit by a tide, I lost my guide I cried aside, I got denied, I took a ride, I went to hide, I lost my pride I got deprived, I was described So I went to youth the next day, and broke down in some tears - MY FRIENDS Billy, Dawid, Jordan, and my youth pastor Dani all sat by my side and said, “Seth, you got this.” So my mind clicked, and said you know what I’m done letting people bring me down I flipped that switch, threw my old self in a ditch, and said it’s a new me, and a new time, let’s get this going, so overtime, I let the bad ones go, and the good ones stay I don’t need that negativity in my life I’m keeping that way, you negative? Here’s the hand, and take that bye-bye You negative, you negative It’s a bye-bye, it's a bye-bye You negative, you negative It’s a bye-bye, it's a bye-bye You negative, you negative It’s a bye-bye, it's a bye-bye You negative, you negative It’s a bye-bye, it's a bye-bye So here comes my sophomore year Head up high, nervousness down low Walk through the doors stone cold Not gonna let anyone in my life unless they real Real or not, you gonna treat me right I’m a changed man now Disrespect, here’s the hand Name calling, here’s the hand Attention seeker, here’s the hand Don’t want that energy no where near This year is gonna be a new year Never gonna show any tears Because I’m hard, I’m here I succeeded in school with A’s and B’s I got a couple C’s, but can’t expect all A’s Teachers, staff, and all the principals were proud of me Mom, and Dad said well done, son You know where I’m at now I felt so proud and church congratulated me too Finally felt fulfilled and free of all the pressure I was at the one point where I could be whole Not feeling stuck in a pothole Oh, but here comes COVID Got placed in quarantine, and God knew I felt deprived This virus messed with my mind Did nothing at all, got out of shape Gained so much weight, and here comes junior year I went into the year with no energy Mental or physical, marching band was a mess I dropped out of high school, and said I’m done with school Done nothing with my life, because it wasn’t good But my senior year comes and I say it’s time for a real change Enrolled back in school, and joined the band My “friends” saw me and said Seth! Seth! Seth! I was there for myself not for anyone else Come the start of school, I walked the halls like I owned the place No one talked bad about me, because I wasn’t a target who just walked around looking free My senior year was my redemption story I had a niece and her name was Rory I got a job after high school in my old school in the Tech department I’m working there now from 7 to 3:30 My life is good, but I’m tryna make it better God has plans for me, and I’m gonna take them for a spin I got myself some family and some friends who are always there looking out for me
